The Central Maine Power Co., (CMP) was making progress restoring electrical power to Lincoln County, until another storm hit Sunday night through Monday morning, bringing on 1973 new power outages as of 11:30 a.m., according to the CMP.
The number had been down to 1508 as of the CMP’s 6:30 a.m. report. The new total is 3461, as of 11 a.m.
Lincoln County towns with areas of power outages include: Boothbay, Boothbay Harbor, Bremen, Bristol, Damariscotta, Dresden, Jefferson, Newcastle, Nobleboro, South Bristol, Southport, and Waldoboro.
The morning’s setback may affect the ability of CMP crews to reach the utility’s objective of restoring all power by Monday night, according to CMP spokesperson John Carroll.
“Crews will be working to meet our goal to get everyone back on tonight (Monday),” Carroll said. “Travel will be slow and we hope drivers will take extra care when they pass crews working on the roadside.”
The Lincoln County News will continue to follow this event and report any additional information here as soon as it becomes available.
