Three people were transported to Miles Memorial Hospital after a motorcycle collided with a station wagon on Main Street in Waldoboro on Tuesday afternoon.
Dale Winchenbach ran his 1994 Harley Davidson into the back of a 2001 Subaru station wagon driven by Wendy Mullen around 3:30 p.m.
According to Waldoboro Patrol Officer Lance Mitchell, Winchenbach was traveling north on Main Street behind a car that was behind Mullen’s vehicle traveling in the same direction.
Winchenbach struck Mullen’s station wagon as she was turning into the Waldoboro Village Apartment complex, passing the vehicle behind Mullen’s.
Thrown from the back of his Harley, Winchenbach suffered a broken arm. His passenger, Patricia Boyington, 38, sustained a head injury. Neither Winchenbach nor Boyington were wearing helmets, Mitchell said. Mullen sustained a head injury, as well. The seriousness of the head injuries has not yet been determined.
The Waldoboro Fire Dept. and Emergency Medical personnel were also on scene to assist the Waldoboro Police Department. According to Fire Chief Ernest Vannah, accidents are considered crime scenes until all details are examined by authorities. Mitchell said that this accident is still under investigation.
