A Lewiston woman sustained a fractured leg when her motorcycle skidded into a camper on Route 1 in Wiscasset the afternoon of Sunday, Aug. 26.
Candice Henson, 51, of Lewiston, was operating a Harley-Davidson motorcycle south on Route 1 at the time of the crash, according to the Wiscasset Police Department. John Salvas, 52, of Connecticut, was driving a black GMC Yukon XL, towing a camper, in front of Henson.
Salvas was making a right turn into the McDonald’s parking lot when Henson’s motorcycle skidded into the camper, according to police. Henson came off the bike and landed in the southbound lane of Route 1.
Henson was transported to Mid Coast Hospital in Brunswick, police said.
The Lincoln County Communications Center paged the Wiscasset Ambulance Service and the Wiscasset Fire Department at 3:16 p.m.
The Wiscasset Police Department and the Central Lincoln County Ambulance Service also responded.
There was no significant damage to either the camper or the motorcycle, according to police.
The motorcycle was towed by Blagden’s Garage, of Wiscasset.
