The Nobleboro Central School Board has named Ann Hassett of Waldoboro as the school’s new principal. Hassett will succeed current principal Mark Deblois who announced his retirement earlier this year.
The school board accepted a committee recommendation during a meeting June 3. NCS secretary Nancy Courville announced the hiring in an email to the school staff June 4.
“While we certainly cannot use the phrase, ‘replacement for Mark’ here, we are very excited about Ann’s acceptance,” Courville said. “The staff involved in the interviews is happy with the decision because she revealed both an enthusiasm for the position, as well as qualifications that seem to mesh with where we are right now.”
Hassett is currently employed as the No Child Left Behind /Title IA coordinator and assistant principal at Medomak Valley High School in Waldoboro.
