Habitat for Humanity/7 Rivers Maine is pleased to announce three new members have joined the board of directors.
Judy Metcalf is an attorney at Eaton Peabody in Brunswick with a practice balanced between trial work, resolution of real estate disputes, and contract negotiation and drafting. Metcalf is very involved in her summer community of Northport, is the mother of two champion swimmers and the wife of an avid reader and a terrific cook.
Dan Purdy is a Waldoboro lawyer who specializes in criminal, juvenile, and child protection cases. He is a member of the Round Pond United Methodist Church, is president of the Muscongus Cemetery Association, and secretary and treasurer of the Oddfellows Lodge.
His hobby, other than Habitat, construction, and tools is Shape Note Singing.
Vic Taylor is president of Turning Point Solutions, Inc. Taylor started the construction management branch of Turning Point Solutions in 2001 following a highly successful career in industry, employment with two construction companies, and ownership of his own remodeling company.
He is also a board member of Rebuilding Together, Lincoln County and the Boothbay Harbor Rotary Club.
Taylor and his wife, Joan, have three children between them, all married; are avid sailors and have a 37-foot sloop sitting on the Sheepscot River.
Habitat has also elected new officers to include Tim Mellen, president; May Mitchell, returning secretary; and Billie Jo Whitmore, treasurer.
Continuing members of the board are Bill Bartley, Bob Beaumont, Gerry Brookes, Joanna Caldwell (Bowdoin College representative), Ken Dale, Patrick Forestell, Bill Howlett, Mark Lamarre, Caralen MacKenzie-Hicks, and Paul Wilson.
