A new fitness studio planned to open in the former Allied Tool & Fastener building in Waldoboro as soon as Monday, May 19 will offer group exercise classes and personal training services.
Stacy Gogolinski, of Edgecomb, is opening the new Studio 3 Wicked Fitness, but the studio will not the be first she has started in Lincoln County.
Gogolinski, who has 19 years experience in the fitness industry, started the ComeFIT Zone in Newcastle about five or six years ago, running it for two years locally before she moved to Idaho due to her husband’s job in 2010.
She continued running the ComeFIT Zone from Idaho for a year before selling the business, which remains in operation in Damariscotta. She and her husband returned to Maine in the summer of 2013.
Gogolinski is expecting to get into her new space this week after the building’s owner finishes some renovations. She hopes to start classes on Monday, May 19.
The studio will offer group classes in Pilates, a strength training class called “RIP,” dance fitness classes, strength and cardio interval training classes, and a new choreographed kick-boxing class called “WAR” that Gogolinski is planning to launch at the end of the month.
A nationally-certified personal trainer, Gogolinski will also offer individual instruction.
Gogolinski’s husband, Jim, will teach classes in the martial art Kenpo at the studio under the banner of his school, Condition Orange Defense Academy.
Gogolinski said the most important thing she wants to convey is she understands the difficulty of someone even walking to a gym and she intends to provide a motivational, non-judgmental, and welcoming atmosphere at the studio.
For classes that she does not teach herself, Gogolinski said she hand-picks and trains the instructors.
“It’s just important to me that atmosphere is not clique-y, it’s not catty, it’s not judgmental, and that atmosphere is always maintained,” she said. “That’s why what I do is special.”
