Michael Frame, of Nobleboro, the newest owner of Paco’s Tacos, the Mexican restaurant and cantina at 1 Taco Alley in Damariscotta, said only minor changes will accompany his takeover.
“This place has been here for a while,” Frame said. “We’re really not changing much.”
Frame and Paco’s employees “spruced…up” the eatery’s interior and tweaked the menu. “The taco salad is actually a real taco salad in a tortilla now,” Frame explained.
Before buying Paco’s, Frame worked at Maritime Farms in Newcastle and Waldoboro. “I been working at restaurants since I could work, really,” Frame said. “I figured it’d be more fun if I owned one myself.”
Frame co-owns Paco’s as part of a business partnership with his parents, Michael and Tonya Frame of South Bristol. The younger Michael Frame, however, will run the business.
Frame’s mother, Tonya, “came here twice a week with my little sister,” Frame said. Tonya knew the previous owner, Albert Morelli, “pretty well,” Frame said.
When Morelli told Tonya Frame the restaurant was for sale, the family bought it.
