High winds tore down trees and power lines all over the state as a powerful storm system passed through Nov. 25. According to Central Maine Power spokesperson Gail Rice, system-wide 35,000 accounts and 12,000 accounts in Lincoln County were without power as of 9 p.m. Tuesday night.
Workers on the Lincoln County system were able to reduce the power outage accounts to 6,900 as of 8:45 a.m. Wednesday.
“We’ve got hundreds of workers out there and various support personnel working to restore power,” Rice said, adding that CMP workers have been outdoors and addressing the issue all night.
Rice said that workers will continue all day to restore power to as many accounts as possible. Due to the scale of damage, CMP may not restore power to the more remote locations and some accounts could be without power into tomorrow, Nov. 27, she said.
LCN will continue to monitor events and post updates here as appropriate.
