The Sheepscot Harbour Village & Resort in Edgecomb sold at auction to Savings Bank of Maine on Jan. 29 for $7.5 million. The bank, which was already the holder of the foreclosed properties, was the only registered bidder.
“This is the second go-’round for the foreclosed properties,” said Jacob Manheimer, an attorney representing the bank. “It’s pretty common at foreclosure sales for the bank to be the only bidder.”
The first time the properties went to auction, the sale was invalidated because it was not filed with the Lincoln County Registry of Deeds in a timely manner, Manheimer said.
