The Waldoboro Police have identified Francis Brewster, 71, of Waldoboro as the motorcyclist who died following a traffic accident on Rt. 1 earlier today.
According to police Brewster was traveling northbound on Rt. 1 when he struck the back of a 1996 Ford Windstar driven by Patricia Boyington, 38, of Waldoboro shortly before 1 p.m. Boyington was stopped in traffic due to the road construction at the time.
According to Waldoboro Police Chief Bill Labombarde, Brewster was not traveling very fast just before the collision. “He saw it at the last minute but it was too late,” Labombarde said. The Chief added there was about 20 feet of skid marks visible at the scene.
Waldoboro Police and fire units cleared scene around 3:30 p.m. An accident reconstruction is being performed by the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office.
