The driver and sole occupant of a Subaru that rolled over on East Pond Road in Nobleboro the afternoon of Tuesday, Sept. 12 did not appear injured, according to police.
Erich Scheffler was driving north, toward Jefferson, in the vicinity of 473 East Pond Road at the time of the accident, according to Lincoln County Sheriff’s Deputy Kevin Dennison.
The vehicle entered the northbound shoulder and Scheffler overcorrected, according to Dennison. The vehicle traveled across the road and into the southbound shoulder, Scheffler overcorrected again, and the vehicle went back across the centerline and re-entered the northbound shoulder before rolling over.
Scheffler did not appear to be injured, according to Dennison, but he was taken to the hospital as a precaution due to the nature of the accident and the extent of damage to the vehicle.
Dennison said the cause of the accident is under investigation.
