None of the three candidates on the ballot for Damariscotta’s municipal election will have opponents this year, and all are current or former town officials.
Selectman Robin Mayer is running for a second consecutive three-year term. Former Selectman Josh Pinkham is running for a one-year term to fill the vacancy left by David Atwater’s resignation April 1.
Pinkham would join the board for the fourth time. He was a selectman from 2005-2006, 2007-2010, and 2011-2014. He did not run for re-election in 2006, 2010, or 2014. He was chairman of the board at the end of his last term.
William Brewer is running for another three-year term on the Great Salt Bay Sanitary District Board of Trustees.
Brent Hallowell filed nomination papers to seek another three-year term on the Great Salt Bay School Committee, but did not qualify for the ballot.
One of the 25 required signatures on Hallowell’s nomination papers belongs to an individual not registered to vote in Damariscotta, Town Clerk Cheryl Pinkham said.
Hallowell said he plans to run as a write-in candidate.
The deadline to file the paperwork necessary to appear on the ballot was Monday, April 27.
Damariscotta voters will elect town officers at the town office from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. June 9.
