There were no injuries in a collision at the intersection of Route 1 and Route 32 in Waldoboro the afternoon of Thursday, Aug. 17.
Brandon West, 34, of Windsor, was driving a commercial truck south on Route 1 and stopped at the intersection for a red light, according to Officer Larry Hesseltine, of the Waldoboro Police Department. Kaitlin Wallace, 29, of Waldoboro, was driving a Toyota Sedan south on Route 1 behind West.
Wallace rear-ended the commercial vehicle, according to Hesseltine. She told police she fell asleep prior to the collision.
The drivers were the sole occupants of the vehicles.
The sedan sustained heavy front-end damage. The truck did not sustain any visible damage and was later driven away from the scene. EBS Building Supplies Inc. owns the commercial truck.
Lincoln County Communications dispatched emergency services shortly after 12:50 p.m. Waldoboro Emergency Medical Services, the Waldoboro Fire Department, and the Waldoboro Police Department responded.
The Nobleboro Fire Department provided assistance with the response, as Waldoboro firefighters were assisting Thomaston at the time of the collision.
