The Nobleboro Board of Selectmen accepted Dale Wright’s resignation from the position of Emergency Management Agency director, when the board met July 3.
Chairman Dick Spear said the board plans to discuss the vacancy with Fire Chief Ryan Gallagher.
“In a lot of towns, the chief does it,” Spear said. “Last year Ryan chose not to.”
The board also decided to set a fee of $5 for non-certified copies of vital records, and to require that a self-addressed, stamped envelope be included with any requests for such documents. According to meeting minutes, the town’s older record books have become delicate and copying them requires time-consuming care.
Town Clerk Mary Ellen Anderson reported the supply of transfer station stickers used by residents of Nobleboro, Jefferson, Newcastle, Damariscotta and Bremen may not be enough to last through the summer. The board will consider changing to a longer-lasting style that adheres to the inside of windshields, before the next order is placed.
The next meeting of the Nobleboro Board of Selectmen is scheduled for Wed., July 18 at 7 p.m. For more information, call the Nobleboro Town Office at 563-8816.
