A Nobleboro man was arrested Dec. 27 after he allegedly passed a fake $20 bill at a gas station in Waldoboro.
Jason Oliver, 35, of Nobleboro, was arrested and charged with felony aggravated forgery, theft, and a variety of drug possession and fish and game violations, police said.
Employees at the Waldoboro Big Apple called police around 1:30 p.m. on Dec. 27 after a customer paid for items with a fake $20. Within a few hours, police identified Oliver as the suspect, obtained a warrant, and searched his home, assisted by the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, Waldoboro Police Chief Bill Labombarde said.
No more fake money or forgery equipment was found at Oliver’s residence, but police found a variety of illegal drugs and several fish and game violations, Labombarde said.
Oliver was released from Two Bridges Regional Jail on Dec. 28 on $200 cash bail, jail officials said.
