A Lincoln County Grand Jury has indicted a Nobleboro man on four counts of gross sexual assault, all Class A felonies.
Corey Pitcher, 45, of Nobleboro, allegedly engaged in several different sexual acts in Nobleboro and Warren with a female then-under the age of 14 between 2000 and 2001, according to court documents.
Each count of gross sexual assault could bring a possible sentence of up to 30 years incarceration and a $50,000 fine if Pitcher is convicted, according to the Office of the Maine Attorney General’s website.
The alleged victim spoke with Lincoln County Sheriff’s Detective Terry Michaud about the incidents in February 2014. Pitcher was arrested on Feb. 28 and taken to Two Bridges Regional Jail in Wiscasset.
An affidavit signed by Michaud said Pitcher was questioned and denies the allegations.
Pitcher was later released on $5000 cash bail and is subject to conditions that he have no contact with the alleged victim or her husband.
Pitcher is due in Lincoln County Superior Court for a status conference on Thursday, May 29 at 8:30 a.m.
A message left for Pitcher’s attorney, Matthew Bowe, was not returned by the time of this posting.
