Rats at the Nobleboro/Jefferson transfer station may be coming to the site in refuse deliveries.
The Nobleboro Board of Selectmen discussed the problem at their March 13 meeting.
While transfer station staff attempt to trace the source of the influx of rodents, the Orkin pest control company will change their regime to a poison that is picked up on rats’ feet and consumed when they groom, according to meeting minutes.
In other business, the board voted to resume their spring and summer meeting schedule. Beginning with the next meeting of the board, scheduled to take place Wednesday, March 27, selectmen’s meetings will begin at 7 p.m.
