At 12:28 p.m. Sunday the National Weather Service issued a bulletin extending the Winter Storm Watch until 10 p.m. on Sunday night. This extension is significant as forecasters are calling for overnight low temps to slide into the mid 20’s, meaning any additional delay in the storm moving out could bring significantly more snowfall to the area.
The Winter Storm Watch was initially set to end at 4 p.m. on Sunday.
Residents who do not need to leave their homes are encouraged to remain there and stay off the roads through the afternoon and overnight hours, allowing first responders, Central Maine Power and road crews to complete their tasks.
The Lincoln County News will continue to follow the progress of this event and post any additional information here as soon as it is obtained.
