The National Weather Service is advising that high winds hitting fully leafed trees combined with wet ground from heavy rainfall may result in downed trees and limbs, bringing the possibility of power outages on Sunday.
A wind advisory issued by the NWS on Saturday calls for wind and rain to begin early Sunday morning and build through the day, with the heaviest rainfall and highest winds expected in the mid-afternoon hours.
Sustained wind velocities of 15 to 25 mph with gusts to 45 mph are forecast for Sunday by the NWS. The wind advisory is in effect from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m., according to the NWS.
A high surf advisory warning of near shore waves of 8 to 10 feet in height and strong rip currents was also issued on Saturday by the NWS. The advisory is in effect on Sunday from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.
