The National Weather Service has extended an Ice Storm Warning until 4 p.m. on Monday, advising in a bulletin issued at 11:40 a.m. that precipitation and ice accumulation will continue during that period.
Originally the forecast indicated that temps should rise above the freeze mark by noon, which was when the Ice Storm Warning was to be lifted.
So far the storm has left around one quarter inch of ice accumulation in coastal areas and around one half an inch of ice accumulation in inland areas.
Almost 3000 Lincoln County homes are without power at the time of this posting and numerous closings have been reported.
