A forecast for clear skies on Sunday will allow Lincoln County residents a brief respite from high winds and heavy snowfall, and a chance to get set for the next storm on Monday.
The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Watch in regard to the third recent snowstorm to visit Lincoln County. This one is forecast to arrive in the early morning hours of Monday, bringing snowfall, heavy at times, during the day on Monday before chugging out of the area Monday night.
Temps are forecast to remain well below the freeze line, so the event should be all snowfall, with “6 inches or more” of accumulation forecast by the NWS.
Winds may once again be a factor in this event, with sustained velocities of 10 to 20 mph from the north, gusting to 35 mph, according to the NWS.
Temps during the event will stay exceedingly low, with a high only 8-degrees above zero to 6-degrees below zero.
The storm track is still uncertain, which may mean higher or lower snowfall totals. The Winter Storm Watch in effect from late Sunday night into Monday evening, according to the NWS.
