At 1:25 p.m. on Saturday the National Weather Service issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch for Lincoln County and surrounding areas. The NWS alert included very few details, however it is in apparent response to a storm front approaching the area from the west.
According to the forecast at intellicast.com the possibility of thunderstorms begins in the late afternoon hours and continues through the evening, with the highest probability of thunderstorms in the evening hours.
The Severe Thunderstorm Watch will be upgraded to a Warning if the possibility of thunderstorms becomes imminent. The Severe Thunderstorm Watch is in effect until 9 p.m. Saturday night.
