The National Weather Service issued a Winter Weather Advisory in their 10:49 a.m. bulletin on Thursday. The advisory warns of snow, sleet and freezing rain during the overnight hours of Thursday.
This event is forecast to begin at approximately 9 p.m., so hopefully evening commuters will be safely home by then.
Precipitation is forecast to begin as snowfall, sleet or freezing rain that should change over to freezing rain and rain in the early morning hours, according to the NWS. Another change over on Friday during the daylight hours should bring rain only as the storm moves out.
Lincoln County peninsulas and coastal areas should see more rain while inland areas should see more freezing rain and snowfall, according to forecasts.
The Winter Weather Advisory is effect from 9 p.m. on Thursday to 8 a.m. on Friday.
