The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory warning for 3 to 6 inches of snowfall accumulation during the overnight hours of Saturday. The new projected totals were increased from earlier forecasts, meaning that a large offshore storm is sliding closer to Lincoln County than originally expected.
Snowfall is now forecast to overspread Lincoln County beginning at 4 p.m. and begin to move out around midnight. The winter weather advisory is in effect from 4 p.m. Saturday until 2 a.m. Sunday.
Any additional movement in the storm track could effect snowfall totals.
Temperatures ranging from 13 to 22 degrees should ensure that the snowfall is dry, kight and fluffy, according to forecasters.
Winds from the north are forecast at sustained speeds of 5 to 15 mph with gusts to 25 mph, according to the NWS.
