The latest National Weather Service bulletin indicates that a storm front moving through Lincoln County on Sunday will be less powerful than originally forecast. Snowfall accumulation is now estimated at 8 to 12 inches, substantially lower than the 18 to 24 inches earlier forecast by the NWS.
At the time of this posting, the NWS is still maintaining a Blizzard Warning effective until 7 a.m. Monday.
Regardless of reduced snowfall amounts, winds are still forecast to be high, and temps sub-freezing. Wind chill will be an issue that residents venturing outside should be aware of. Power outages from high winds may also be a possibility. Reduced visibility from windblown snow on roadways may be a consideration for motorists.
The Lincoln County News will continue to follow the progress of this event and post any additional information here as soon as it is obtained.
