The National Weather Service has extended a winter weather advisory warning of hazardous road conditions caused by mixed precipitation overspreading Lincoln County during the evening hours Tuesday. The winter weather advisory, originally in effect until 6 p.m., is now in effect until 8 p.m. Tuesday.
The winter weather advisory follows a day of steady but light snowfall. Accumulated snowfall in the northern part of Lincoln County is forecast to range from 3-6 inches, while coastal areas should see 1-3 inches, according to the National Weather Service. Snowfall accumulations may be lowered when mixed precipitation is forecast to change over to rainfall during the nighttime hours.
