A Special Weather Statement issued by the National Weather Service at 10:20 a.m. on Monday warns of heavy downpours through 1 p.m. that could lead to street flooding and dense fog that could affect visibility.
“A line of showers and thunderstorms containing heavy downpours will cross the region and lead to additional ponding of water on roads and localized street flooding,” the bulletin advised. “Motorists should slow down and stay alert for areas of water on the roads.”
Lincoln County is also under a Dense Fog Advisory until 1 p.m., according to another NWS bulletin.
A cold front forecast to arrive in the early afternoon hours will drive out the fog and rain, but will bring sub-freezing temps to the area.
The Lincoln County News will continue to follow the progress of this event and post any additional information here as soon as it is obtained.
