The timing on a storm forecast to affect Lincoln County through the weekend has been moved back, according to the latest National Weather Service bulletin. Precipitation will begin later, and will initially be a bit lighter than originally forecast, according to the NWS. The latest forecast calls for precipitation to begin in the late afternoon hours of Saturday as light rain or sleet and then develop through the overnight hours into steady snowfall continuing through Sunday, according to the NWS.
The weather comes courtesy of two systems, one coming from the south that will affect the area first and the second coming from the west, affecting the area on Sunday, according to forecasters.
The snowfall type is forecast to be wet and heavy. Total snowfall accumulation for this event is forecast at 4 to 8 inches, according to the NWS.
The Winter Storm Watch is in effect from 8 p.m. on Saturday to Sunday evening, according to the NWS.
