The National Weather Service has withdrawn a Special Weather Statement issued Monday morning that warned of the possibility that “strong to severe” thunderstorms may move through Lincoln County in the early evening hours of Monday, July 7.
The forecast storms are part of a large system presently moving across the western border of Maine.
The retraction of the Special Weather Statement indicates that NWS forecasters are expecting milder conditions for Monday evening, however the possibility of scattered thunderstorms is still in the forecast.
The Lincoln County News will continue to follow the progress of this event and post any additional information here as soon as it is obtained.
