Oliver’s at Cozy Harbor wharf, Southport Island, opened over the Memorial Day weekend due to the generosity of Paul Coulombe.
Coulombe restored the pier that Gus Pratt’s general store sat on for many years. Pratt’s old general store is considered a local icon and Coulombe wanted to give back to the community and save a local treasure.
Coulombe has also been active in fundraising for the Cuckold’s Light project and local YMCA and paid the entire cost of permitting and construction of what is now Oliver’s.
Those who have met Paul, find him as personable as he is generous.
The extensive renovations moved the old building, put in a new dock and a space for the public beside the restaurant.
Oliver’s seats 33 and has a deck overlooking the harbor with seating. The main dining room has a wonderful scenic view of the harbor.
Oliver’s serves a seafood menu that includes Chef Rick Skoglund Jr.’s special crab cake recipe either as a plate or sandwich.
Other options include lobster rolls, Po’ Boys, and a Black Forest Ham panini along with other items and a children’s menu.
Skoglund Jr., an award-winning chef is recently back from Ocean Properties Westin Resort Key West Florida and is the head Chef and general manager of Oliver’s.
Oliver’s is located on Southport Island off of Rt. 27, 36 Cozy Harbor Rd. next to the Southport Island Yacht club.
