A single-car crash on Rt. 220 in Waldoboro left one dead on Jan. 4.
A northbound vehicle struck a telephone pole and then a tree at around 11 a.m., tearing the car in half.
The driver, whose name is not known at this time, was pronounced dead when responders arrived on scene shortly after the crash. The make of vehicle was difficult to determine at the scene, said Waldoboro Police Chief Bill Labombarde.
“We’re conducting a full investigation, and details will be available soon,” Labombarde said.
Waldoboro Police, Waldoboro First Responders and State Police responded to the scene.
