Mysterious locations in Lincoln County will be featured in the upcoming June edition of MysteriousDestinationsMagazine.com, an online publication that invites readers to “explore the unknown and the unexplained.”
Damariscotta-based MysteriousDestinationsMagazine.com covers mysteries throughout North America and the Caribbean, featuring a new location in each monthly edition.
The current May edition features a paranormal exploration of the Johnny Cash house in Jamaica. The premier edition of the magazine in April featured Virginia City, Nevada. Following the June edition with mysteries in Maine, the July edition will feature reports of a sea serpent in San Francisco Bay.
Each of these mysterious locations is personally visited and investigated by Sally Lobkowicz, the director of MysteriousDestinationsMagazine.com. Lobkowicz is also known in Lincoln County as “The Lady in the Red Cloak” who hosts lantern-lit walking tours in Wiscasset, Damariscotta and Boothbay Harbor as part of her Red Cloak Haunted History Tours during the summer and fall months.
Lobkowicz said, “MysteriousDestinationsMagazine.com was a natural offshoot for the kind of research we do for our Red Cloak Haunted History Tours. It allows us to travel to some very interesting places, and tell our readers how they can visit those places as well.”
Lincoln County locations to be featured in the “Maine’s Mystery Coast” section will include the Rufus Flye House in Damariscotta, the Ancient Burial Ground in Wiscasset, and historic sightings of a sea serpent in Boothbay Harbor. Other Lincoln County locations are still under consideration.
“We cover the full range of mysteries – haunted locations, unknown creatures, extra-terrestrial activity, historical conundrums – if it’s mysterious, we’ll investigate it,” Lobkowicz said.
The June issue of MysteriousDestinationsMagazine.com will also have an in-depth article about the Tipsy Butler B&B in Newcastle, where Lobkowicz has conducted extensive investigations regarding the presence of an entity believed to be that of the former owner. Another article will cover the International Cryptozoology Museum in Portland.
“After a research expedition that recently took us to seven states and three countries it’s great to be covering stories right here in our home neighborhood,” Lobkowicz said. “We hope that our readers from “away” will be enticed to come visit all of the great mysteries we have in Maine.”
