The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a vehicle rollover on Calls Hill Road in Dresden in which the driver allegedly fled the scene of the accident.
When emergency crews arrived at the scene just before 1 p.m. on April 7, they found a 2002 Ford Focus ZX5 resting on its driver’s side, however no one was in the vehicle. According to Dresden firefighter Pat Theriault, a passerby reported the accident to authorities.
“It’s worse when they leave the scene,” said Theriault. “Not only from a law enforcement standpoint but from the insurance company’s as well.”
After conducting interviews in the course of the investigation, Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office Lt. Rand Maker, said Kyle Taylor, 30, of Boothbay Harbor was arrested for failure to pay fines.
Maker said the LCSO is still trying to determine who was driving the vehicle and the case remains ongoing.
The vehicle involved in the accident is registered to Amanda Spicer, of Dresden.
The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, Dresden Fire Department, and Northeast Ambulance service responded to the scene.
