Please join everyone for the grand opening of the Viles Arboretum on Saturday, June 8, from 2 to 6 p.m. for the first art show and reception.
Twelve regionally and nationally recognized artists, including William Royall, of Southport, will be represented by over 15 beautiful examples of nature themed sculptures depicting shapes and designs drawn from nature.
During the grand opening, meet the artists, view their art and learn more about the Arboretum’s Sculpture and Nature Project.
There will be formal remarks at 2:30 p.m. along with music, food and refreshments. Guided tours of the art trail will also be offered. Special thanks goes to William Royall, Birch Royall, Andreas von Huene, Dan Ucci and Eric Wood for their hard work in putting together this outstanding show.
This project is one of a number of initiatives currently underway at the Viles Arboretum aimed at enhancing the visitor experience, building a broader constituency, a sustainable non-profit organization, and a destination for visitors from New England and beyond… where sights, sounds, and experiences are memorable, enjoyable and educational.
Sales of any of the pieces on exhibit for this show will in part benefit the good work and mission of the Arboretum.
