A Dec. 15 decision by the Bristol Board of Selectmen to permit an encampment at Colonial Pemaquid will result in “most” Olde Bristol Days events moving to Pemaquid Beach, Bristol Town Administrator Kristine Poland said.
The base and spectator area for the 25th annual Merritt Brackett lobster boat races will remain at the fort.
Planning for the move, which will include food, games and craft vendors, live music and other traditional Olde Bristol Days offerings, began in early October. In November, the selectmen approved over $6000 in electrical upgrades at Pemaquid Beach to handle the additional activity.
