Waldoboro police are keeping an eye out for a white truck that may have played a role in the June 4 car accident on Rt. 235 that resulted in the death of a local man and critical injuries to two survivors.
The investigation into the fatal accident remains ongoing, according to Waldoboro Police.
The passenger of a truck involved in the crash that instantly killed Harold Benner, 63, on Rt. 235 has been released from Maine Medical Hospital in Portland, according to Waldoboro Police Chief Bill Labombarde.
Robert Colpritt, 33, of Rockland was the passenger in a truck driven by Steven Kaler, 43, of Warren when they crashed into the jeep driven by Benner around 4 p.m. on Rt. 235, also known as Union Rd.
Kaler, who was transported to a hospital in Boston after having received considerable burn injuries, is reported by police to be alive and still in the hospital.
Police are seeking a white truck allegedly involved in the accident. Chief Labombarde said he believes there would have been damage to the rear passenger-side quarter panel, possibly with blue paint marks indicating a collision with Kaler’s blue pickup truck, based on witness statements.
Any information should be directed to Chief Bill Labombarde at the Waldoboro Police Dept. The phone number is 832-4500.
