Kasprzak Condominiums, a North Waterboro-based company, has expressed interest in purchasing a 100-acre parcel on Snead Spur in Newcastle, Newcastle Code Enforcement Officer Stanley Waltz said.
In October 2010, The Lincoln County News reported a developer in southern Maine was interested in a 100-acre parcel, but town officials didn’t know the identity of the developer or the location of the parcel.
According to Waltz, Kasprzak Condominiums wants to construct quad units. Newcastle zoning, however, limits construction to six units per landowner per two years.
“This is still very much in the preliminary stage,” Newcastle Town Administrator Ron Grenier said.
Kasprzak Condominiums’ website lists “village-styled, age-qualified communities” such as Ridgefield, in Gorham, and Schooner Landing, in Wells, among the company’s projects.
According to the website, “For almost 40 years, Kasprzak Builders, a family-owned and operated business, has been providing people in Maine with homes, that by their very design, workmanship and energy saving features, reflect our state’s strong, independent spirit.”
A Kasprzak representative did not immediately respond to an email.
