Power was interrupted to the town of Newcastle at approximately 6:30 a.m. today due to a branch shorting out a power line on near Austin Rd.
Newcastle Fire Dept. responded to the scene following reports the branch was smoldering.
With the absence of electricity, the branch was easily handled, with the Newcastle Fire Dept. clearing the scene. CMP responded to the situation and restored the power at 7:35 a.m.
