The results of the Dresden Second Selectman race were upheld in a recount Monday, June 27, but questions surrounding absentee ballots linger. In a recount supervised by former Dresden Town Clerk Chris Wolfe, currently Freeport’s town clerk, and town attorney Jessica Avery the results of Dresden’s June 14 election of municipal officials were upheld – Dwight Keene unseated incumbent Second Selectman Gerald Lilly in a 149-138 vote.
While Lilly signed off on the election results, municipal officials continue to question the processing of absentee ballots in the local election.
