On Jan. 30, Pen Bay Healthcare employees honored Roy Hitchings, CEO of Pen Bay Healthcare and president of Pen Bay Medical Center for the past 13-plus years, with a farewell reception.
Many of Hitchings’ current and former co-workers and well-wishers gathered in the cafeteria to shake hands, share fond memories, and enjoy cake and punch. Two cakes were decorated with several photos of his likeness including images of Hitchings as a small child.
The Trustees of Pen Bay Healthcare and Pen Bay Healthcare Foundation dedicated The Hitchings Conference Room (formerly known as Conference Room C) at Pen Bay prior to their Jan. 23 board meeting with both Debbi and Roy Hitchings present.
In his retirement, Hitchings is looking forward to continuing his work in healthcare on a part-time basis, while he takes advantage of his newly acquired free time to enjoy his family, including a brand-new grandson, and spend more time fishing.
