A 5K road race will be the start of festivities for Medomak Valley Land Trust’s sixth annual River Festival on Sat., Sept. 1. Registration begins at 7:30 a.m. and the race starts at 8 a.m. from the Waldoboro Recreational Complex.
The race will take runners down Rt. 32 towards Bremen and will offer beautiful views of the rolling landscape and the Medomak River.
T-shirts are available to the first 45 registrants and prizes will be awarded to overall and age category winners. The race entry is a donation to the Medomak Valley Land Trust of $15.
After the 5K race, runners can enjoy other River Festival activities from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., at Cider Hill Farm, a new venue located at 72 Medomak Terrace in Waldoboro Village.
Admission is free and activities include boat rides on the river, a cookout, live music, a market of farmers and artisans, children’s activities and more.
Race registration forms can be found by visiting www.medomakvalley.org. The Waldoboro Recreational Complex is located at the intersection of Main Street and Percy Moody Road, adjacent to the doctor’s office.
The River Festival venue is located in the fields at the intersection of Main Street and Medomak Terrace. Parking for the festival is available at the Pine Street Landing.
