The Union Area Chamber of Commerce hosts a roadside cleanup on Sat., May 5 rain or shine.
First performed May 5, 1968, the 2012 clean up is an opportunity for scouts, Little League teams and other community groups to come together with Chamber members to make Union more litter free.
The roadside cleanup starts at Ayer Park at 9 a.m.
To be made litter free are the roads Common, Fairgrounds, Townhouse, Payson, Barrett Hill, Butler, Clary Hill, North Union, Shepard Hill, Depot Street and Ayer Hill.
Reflective vests and rubber gloves will be provided but it is highly recommended to supply them if available.
The trash collected will be brought to Ayer Park at noon before being delivered and weighed at the transfer station. Also at noon at Ayer Park, there will be a hot dog lunch provided to the volunteers by the Chamber.
