A section of Route 32 in Waldoboro currently remains closed to through traffic due to a single-vehicle accident in the vicinity of Hill Road.
According to a Lincoln County News reporter on the scene, two occupants, a 19-year-old male from Warren and a 25-year-old man from Damariscotta, were transported from the scene via ambulance.
Preliminary information indicates the vicitms were being transported to LincolnHealth – Miles Campus in Damariscotta.
Preliminary information from the scene indicates the vehicle, an SUV, was headed north on Route 32 when it veered off the southbound side of the road and hit an embankment.
According to a preliminary report, the driver, identified as the 19-year-old man, overcorrected before hitting a utility pole on the southbound side of the road.
The SUV subsequently rolled over and ultimately came to rest in a stream off the northbound side of the road.
As of this posting, responders remain on scene. The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office is performing an accident reconstruction. Traffic is currently being rerouted around the accident scene via Cross Road and Depot Street.
