Buddy Poland, of Round Pond, won the November #LCNme365 photo contest with his photo of Round Pond Harbor. Poland will receive a $50 gift certificate to a local business from Damariscotta Bank and Trust, the sponsor of the November contest.
A Round Pond man emerged victorious in the November #LCNme365 photo contest by a single vote.
Buddy Poland snapped the winning photo at Round Pond Harbor with a Canon camera.
“It’s a hobby. It’s fun just playing around,” Poland said of photography. “It’s hard not to take a good picture where we live.”
Poland was familiar with the #LCNme365 photo contest from reading about it in the newspaper and seeing it on Facebook and Instagram. He had entered the contest a couple times in the past, but this was his first time winning a monthly photo contest.
“I thought (the picture) might do OK,” he said. “I’m pretty happy about it.”

In addition to having his photo featured on the front page of The Lincoln County News, Poland will receive a $50 gift certificate to Renys from November’s contest sponsor, Damariscotta Bank & Trust, of Damariscotta.
As the 11th monthly winner, Poland cannot win another weekly or monthly contest in 2018, but he can still submit photos for inclusion in the weekly slideshow of entries at lcnme.com.
Poland’s photo will compete against the other 11 monthly winners at the end of the year as voters select the winner for 2018.
