No one was injured when a Sheepscot Valley RSU 12 school bus hit a stopped vehicle as it turned onto Head Tide Hill Road from Head Tide Road in Alna Oct. 23.
Linda Delano, 61, of Wiscasset, was driving the bus and was turning onto Head Tide Hill Road to make her last stop at the time of the accident, according to John Merry, director of operations for RSU 12.
Merry, who was on the bus, said Delano just didn’t see the car. There was one student on the bus at the time, Merry said.
Morgan Dodge, 22, of Woolwich, was stopped in a Ford Focus about 10 feet in front of the stop sign at the end of Head Tide Hill Road when the bus struck the car, according to Sgt. Alan Shea, of the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office.
The bus dragged the car backwards at least 10 feet, according to Shea.
Shea confirmed Delano didn’t see the vehicle because her windows were foggy.
The car is totaled, Shea said.
