At their Dec. 1 meeting, the RSU/MSAD 40 School Board set a 2 percent cap limiting a potential increase in next year’s budget.
RSU/MSAD 40 Supt. Susan Pratt said the board set the cap after reviewing budget figures for the last five years.
“I think it’s realistic,” Pratt said. “Program wise, this will maintain the status quo. The cost of everything is going up.”
The current year’s budget is $21,489,112 – a 2.98 percent increase from the previous year. With a 2 percent increase, the budget for next year would total $21,885,039.
