The Maine Drug Enforcement Agency executed a search warrant at Schooner Inn in Wiscasset Thursday, Oct. 30, making two arrests after a short investigation into Oxycontin trafficking, MDEA Special Agent Jim Pease told The Lincoln County News.
Richard Spencer, 52, of Wiscasset, and Michelle Barto, 34, of Richmond, were taken into custody on charges of unlawful trafficking of scheduled drugs, a class B felony, for allegedly selling 30-milligram OxyContin pills out of their hotel room.
Spencer and Barto were held at Two Bridges Regional Jail in Wiscasset before posting bail Friday, Oct. 31. Spencer’s bail was set at $2,500 and Barto’s at $1,000, both unsecured. Both are scheduled to appear in court Dec. 26.
