A male kayaker reported missing south of Pemaquid Point this afternoon was located south of Monhegan Harbor, about 10 miles offshore, after an extensive search.
A Maine Marine Patrol boat found the man at about 5 p.m., approximately three hours after the search began.
The man did not have any injuries. “We checked him out,” Bristol Assistant Fire Chief Neil Kimball said. “He just got a little confused as to where he was going.”
The Bremen Fire Department, Lincoln County Communications, Maine Marine Patrol, the Maine Warden Service, the South Bristol Fire Department and U.S. Coast Guard Station Boothbay Harbor assisted in the search, which utilized six boats and a Warden Service airplane.
