No one was injured in a two-vehicle accident in Waldoboro the afternoon of Aug. 5 when a sedan drifted into the oncoming lane and struck a pickup truck, according to Waldoboro Police Officer Thomas Bartunek.
Ian Clark, 22, of South Thomaston, was southbound on Route 1 near its northern intersection with Old Route 1 when, while looking over his shoulder to locate an address, the Chevrolet Malibu he was driving drifted into the other lane, Bartunek said.
Clark’s vehicle struck a northbound Ford F-350 operated by Jeremy Delano, 42, of Rockport, Bartunek said.
Delano was issued a summons for allegedly operating after his license was suspended, Bartunek said.
Traffic was slowed and occasionally stopped for a time while authorities dealt with the scene and the vehicles were removed.
Waldoboro Fire Department provided traffic control and cleanup. Waldoboro EMS also responded to the scene.
