During the month of October and continuing into Early Bird Day on Nov. 1, Shapers Health Club in Damariscotta collected $150 in donations towards the Community Energy Fund.
These donations were generously given by club members, the community at large, and by Shapers for every new member that signed up during October.
“Recognizing our role as a responsible member of the Damariscotta business community, Shapers picks various local causes each year to support,” said Lil Garcia, Shapers manager. “Our next cause will be the local food bank. Each member who brings in an article of food will have their name appear on a large sparkly snowflake hanging in the gym. Last year at this time, Shapers collected almost 400 pounds of food items and we hope to match that this year.”
Shapers new fall and winter hours are 7 a.m.-noon, and 1-6 p.m. Mon.-Fri., and 8:30-11:30 a.m. on Saturday. The noon hour each weekday is reserved for special programs. Classes currently being offered are The Biggest Loser and Zumbadance.
